Our real estate agents are always quick to recommend Long Island's local attractions to our clients, tourists, and visitors. Here are some of our favorite destinations that truly make Long Island unique.

  • Long Island Aquarium - 431 E Main St, Riverhead, NY 11901
Explore the depths of the ocean at one of the country's best aquariums. At the Long Island Aquarium, you'll find one of the largest coral reef displays, a huge shark tank, and over 100 indoor and outdoor exhibits. What makes this aquarium especially unique is its fun "Lost City of Atlantis" theme. The aquarium is open on weekdays from 10 am to 4 pm and on weekends from 10 am to 5 pm. Best of all, the Long Island Aquarium is just a train ride away from some great Brooklyn homes for sale.

  • Old Westbury Gardens - 71 Old Westbury Rd, Old Westbury, NY 11568
One of the most beautiful and historic buildings in New York is Old Westbury Gardens, the former home of John and Margarita Phipps. This huge mansion was built in 1906 and sits on 200 acres of beautiful land and gardens. Today, you can take a guided tour of the property or attend one of the many educational events hosted onsite every year. It's a great way to learn about the classic 20th-century American country estate. While you're in town, check out some of these Queens homes for sale, which are just a short drive away.

  • Freeport's Nautical Mile - Woodcleft Ave, Freeport, NY 11520
This year-round destination is one of the most unique places to visit on Long Island. You'll encounter picturesque views of the water, as well as an endless number of restaurants, bars, shops, and activities. It's easy to spend a whole weekend exploring Freeport's Nautical Mile. This area represents the epitome of Long Island culture and gives tourists a glimpse into the area's past.

  • Oheka Castle - 135 W Gate Dr, Huntington, NY 11743
One of the nation's most historic hotels is located right here on Long island. Oheka Castle makes for a beautiful destination for a weekend escape or an amazing venue for a wedding. The property is absolutely beautiful — the building and gardens are full of history, and there are plenty of dining options and activities onsite. You can also schedule tours of the castle. After your tour, swing by some of these luxurious Huntington homes for sale.

  • Sands Point Preserve - 127 Middle Neck Rd, Sands Point, NY 11050
This 216-acre grand estate allows you to explore the great gold coast that inspired the Great Gatsby.
